Associate Software Engineer

About the role

Ford is hiring fresh engineering graduates for an Associate Software Engineer position in Chennai. The role focuses on building backend services for the Vehicle Marketing & Incentives platform using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and event‑driven messaging. Candidates will gain hands‑on experience with micro‑services, REST APIs and enterprise‑scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test Java‑based micro‑services using Spring Boot.
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs that power marketing and incentive workflows.
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage database schemas in PostgreSQL.
• Develop basic Kafka producers/consumers for asynchronous event processing.
• Create unit and integration tests with JUnit and Mockito.
• Participate in code reviews, collaborate with frontend teams and adopt AI‑assisted development tools responsibly.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience or equivalent project/internship work.
• Strong foundation in Core Java and object‑oriented programming.
• Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub) and collaborative development practices.
• Ability to work onsite in Chennai and communicate effectively in a team environment.
