SW Development Engineer 1

About the role

As a Software Development Engineer at Dexcom, you will design and build highly available, cloud‑native systems that support our continuous glucose monitoring platform. Working in an Agile, multi‑disciplinary team, you will contribute across the full software lifecycle, from architecture to testing, while collaborating closely with data scientists and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop event‑driven, scalable services on cloud infrastructure using Java, Kotlin and Go.
• Partner with data‑science teams to create machine‑learning pipelines.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews and implement best‑practice testing strategies.
• Automate manual workflows, improve data delivery and optimise infrastructure for cost and performance.
• Maintain on‑call rotation for production reliability and ensure data security.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent Master’s degree).
• 0‑2 years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.

Skills

• Proficient in Kotlin, Java and Go.
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka, Azure Service Bus or ZeroMQ.
• Hands‑on with relational databases (MySQL) and NoSQL stores (Cassandra).
• Familiarity with modern testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to frontend development concepts.
