Software Automation Trainee - Technical Graduate Apprentice

Cisco Systems is hiring for the role of Software Automation Trainee – Technical Graduate Apprentice (India UHR) at its Bangalore office.

About the role

This is a 12-month structured apprenticeship under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), giving 2025 and 2026 batch graduates a chance to gain real-world exposure to automation, networking, and modern software engineering at one of the world’s leading technology companies.

Responsibilities

• Automation Development: Build Python-based automation scripts to streamline routine engineering tasks and reduce manual effort.
• REST API Integration: Work with REST APIs to automate provisioning, monitoring, and reporting workflows across Cisco platforms.
• Networking Fundamentals: Learn networking basics on Cisco switches, routers, and lab environments used by senior engineers.
• Cloud & DevOps Exposure: Gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD tooling, and secure coding practices used in modern enterprises.
• Agile Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews alongside experienced engineers.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Networking, Computer Applications, Data Engineering, or related fields.
• Batch Year: Must have graduated in 2025 or 2026 with a Degree Certificate or Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC) at the time of joining.
• NATS Enrolment: Candidates must be enrolled as a student on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) with a valid student enrolment number.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of MS Office tools and familiarity with software development concepts is an added advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English along with a Can-Do attitude.
