About the role

Cisco is hiring fresh 2025‑2026 graduates for a 12‑month Software Engineer Trainee apprenticeship in Bangalore. The program offers hands‑on experience with modern programming languages, large‑scale SaaS deployments, AI‑driven network optimisation and cybersecurity automation, preparing you for a full‑time engineering career.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply current software development methodologies and programming languages.
• Assist in deploying new software and critical upgrades across a large SaaS environment.
• Implement change‑management and deployment processes.
• Build automation tools to streamline complex operational tasks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on AI, networking and cybersecurity challenges.
• Gain exposure to network‑traffic optimisation using machine learning.

Eligibility

• Graduated in 2025 or 2026 with a final or provisional degree certificate.
• Valid enrollment on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.
• Available for the full 12‑month period starting September 2026.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for technology and a proactive learning attitude.
• Willingness to work onsite in Bangalore.

Skills

• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python or C++.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and Linux environments.
• Understanding of software deployment and change‑management concepts.
