Remote Full Stack Developer (Frontend-Focused) - Canada

About the role

Brafton is seeking a senior‑level remote Full Stack Developer who will primarily craft clean, high‑performance front‑end experiences while also handling back‑end tasks within WordPress and Drupal ecosystems. The role involves turning design mockups into responsive, accessible websites for a diverse client base across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks (ACF or React‑based) and plugins from design specifications.
• Convert UI mockups into responsive, accessible front‑end code using HTML, CSS/SASS, and modern JavaScript.
• Theme and configure Drupal sites, create content types, and troubleshoot module issues.
• Identify and resolve front‑end and back‑end bugs across multiple CMS platforms.
• Collaborate closely with designers, consultants, and occasionally clients to refine implementations.
• Leverage AI tools such as Claude Code to plan and execute large‑scale project components.

Eligibility

• Minimum 5 years of professional front‑end development experience.
• At least 3 years building and customizing WordPress sites, including Gutenberg block creation.
• Strong proficiency in PHP (7.x/8.x) for reading, debugging, and extending WordPress/Drupal code.
• Hands‑on experience with Drupal theming or module development.
• Good understanding of LAMP stack conventions (MySQL, Git) and WordPress hooks/filters.
• Excellent communication skills for remote, client‑facing collaboration.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools.
