About the role
Arm is looking for a Software Engineer to design and maintain Linux‑based command‑line tools, primarily using Python. The role focuses on building reusable automation components, improving performance, and supporting release workflows for engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Python‑driven Linux utilities and CLI applications.
- Create modular architectures that serve multiple projects and teams.
- Identify bottlenecks and automate workflows to boost speed and reliability.
- Develop reusable APIs, interfaces, and integration patterns for engineering tools.
- Implement robust process execution, environment handling, error management, logging, and diagnostics.
- Define structured configuration contracts using YAML, JSON, or schemas.
- Write unit, integration, regression, performance, and system tests.
- Profile and optimise CPU, memory, filesystem, network, and batch workloads.
- Support packaging, deployment, versioning, backward compatibility, and release automation.
- Participate in requirements analysis, code reviews, and validation planning.
- Produce user documentation and mentor peers on integration practices.
Eligibility
- 1‑3 years of professional software development experience.
