Data Science Intern

About the role

Novartis is offering a Data Science Internship in its Hyderabad office, where you will apply quantitative techniques to real‑world HR challenges. The position is designed for recent graduates or post‑graduates from quantitative fields and provides exposure to statistical modeling, machine learning, predictive analytics and generative AI within a global pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy statistical and machine‑learning models to improve employee engagement, recruitment efficiency and workforce planning.
• Design interactive dashboards and visualisations that deliver actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
• Perform data mining, exploratory analysis and feature engineering on structured and unstructured HR data.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prototype LLM‑based solutions and generative‑AI applications for HR workflows.
• Support research and development of new algorithms, statistical methods and business models under the guidance of a supervisor.
• Document findings and present results to leadership to influence strategic decisions.

Eligibility

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics).
• Strong foundation in statistical modeling and machine‑learning techniques.
• Academic projects or internship exposure to data‑science workflows is preferred.
• Preference for candidates from top‑tier universities.
• Ability to communicate analytical insights clearly to non‑technical audiences.
