About the role

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab on a Frontier Code Agents project. As a contributor, you'll evaluate and help improve frontier AI coding models through structured technical assessments grounded in realistic frontend engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex engineering tasks
  • Review model-generated frontend code for correctness, quality, maintainability, accessibility, and performance
  • Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in model outputs
  • Compare outputs from multiple frontier models and weigh their strengths and weaknesses
  • Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic frontend scenarios

Eligibility

  • 2+ years of professional frontend engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience building modern web apps with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript
  • Regular use of AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar)
  • The ability to assess model-generated UI implementations, architecture, and performance optimizations
