Software Development Engineer

About the role

Delta Technology Hub is looking for a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and maintain micro‑service based retail applications. The role involves full‑stack development, API creation, cloud deployment on AWS, and leveraging AI‑assisted coding tools to improve productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
• Develop and enhance RESTful APIs for order management, cart operations, and product catalog services.
• Collaborate with UI teams to integrate front‑end components where needed.
• Implement event‑driven workflows with messaging platforms such as Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway and CloudWatch.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline or similar tools.
• Write clean, well‑documented code and create unit and integration tests.
• Work with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Participate in sprint cycles alongside Product, QA, Architecture and Engineering teams.
• Utilize AI‑powered development assistants (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q, etc.) to accelerate coding, debugging and documentation.

Eligibility

• 2‑4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java programming skills with hands‑on Spring Boot experience.
• Proficiency in Python for backend or automation tasks.
• Good grasp of micro‑service architecture and REST API design.
• Experience with SQL databases and exposure to NoSQL databases.
• Basic hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
