About GE Aerospace
GE Aerospace is an American aerospace company headquartered in Evendale, Ohio, in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, that designs, manufactures, and services aircraft engines, propulsion systems, avionics, and other components for commercial, business, and military aviation. The company's product line includes the CFM56 and LEAP engines produced through its CFM International joint venture with Safran Aircraft Engines, the GE9X and GEnx widebody engines, the F110 and F404 military engines, and the Catalyst turboprop, as well as integrated avionics and electrical power systems. GE Aerospace traces its origins to the formation of General Electric's aviation business in 1917 with the development of supercharger technology for military aircraft and the introduction of America's first turbosupercharger and first jet engine programmes. The aviation business operated for decades as GE Aviation within General Electric Company. On 2 April 2024, General Electric Company completed the spin-off of its energy business as GE Vernova, and the remaining parent company was renamed GE Aerospace, with shares trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker GE. GE Aerospace operates a global manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance footprint across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and supports a worldwide installed base of more than 44,000 commercial and 26,000 military aircraft engines. In India, GE Aerospace's John F. Welch Technology Centre in Bengaluru, founded in 2000, supports advanced engineering, materials science, additive manufacturing, and digital programmes; the company also operates a manufacturing facility in Pune.
